Psalms 119

Since I started reading the Bible through in a year many years ago I have fell in love with Psalms 119.  In my "read the bible through in a year" schedule Psalms 119 starts in June and I read a section, eight verses, a day.  I also read another portion of old testament scripture, a portion from the gospels, and another from the new testament writings each day with twenty-five days scheduled a month.  I like doing this as it keeps me focused.

The past several years I have read from different versions of the Bible each year.  One year I read from my mother's old Bible.  That was special as I was able to see which verses were meaningful to her and read her notes she had made throughout the years.

This year I am reading from The Word of Yahweh Bible I got a couple years ago.  The writing is similar to King James.  Here is my portion for today:

LAMED.

89  For ever, O Yahweh, thy word is settled in heaven.

90  Thy faithfulness is unto all generations:  thou hast established the earth, and it abideth.

91  They continue this day according to thine ordinances:  for all are thy servants.

92  Unless thy law had been my delights, I should then have perished in mine affliction.

93  I will never forget thy precepts:  for with them thou hast quickened me.

94  I am thine, save me; for I have sought thy precepts.

95  The wicked have waited for me to destroy me:  but I will consider thy testimonies.

96  I have seen an end of all perfections:  but thy commandment is exceeding broad.

This one verse from tomorrow's reading sums it up for me:

MEM.

97  O how love I thy law!  It is my meditation all the day.
